It's just a pity that several people who said they'd be coming, didn't . . . understandable if they say they've got a problem, but a nuisance when they're expected and didn't say "not now coming"!

Hi Caz and Co

Sorry we didn't make it to the get together, further to my text to Caz when I got out of hospital a few weeks ago I will explain what happened.

On the Thursday evening before we were due to leave on the Friday morning I collapsed at work, I woke up on Sunday morning much to Maureens (and my families) relief. The specialist and his locum said that when I came in I was just hours away from either a stroke or a heart attack.

It would appear that when burning the candle at both ends you end up with burn't fingers. The last 2 years had come to a climax. Maureen being a total technophobe couldn't contact anyone.

So I have had plenty of bed rest, we have had 2 weeks in Gt Yarmouth resting with friends. I've had more pipes and wires that Spegetti Junction coming into and out of me.

I have had time to do some serious soul searching and need to look at what happens next with my life choices next year.

Anyone want to buy a haulage and workshop businesses ::)

At this moment in time not I'm not too sure about anything, what happened was certainly a wake up call. It would seem that plenty has happened since September and I will do some reading up on all your posts.

I'm glad your on the mend Al it must have been very worrying for Mo, I know from my own experience that the other half's go through hell when this happens and they can get over looked in the concern for the patient.

I found it very difficult and it took me a long time to come to terms with the changes I had to make, but your health has to take priority, easier said than done.

I'm sure you'll feel a lot better given time, all the best

Hi Al,
I wondered why you hadn't been on here for a while. Sorry to hear that you haven't been well, it must have been a scary time for you and Maureen. When things like this happen it makes you look at life a bit differently doesn't it.

Our best wishes to you both,

Jude Jeff and Adam

Hi Al and Mo

Glad to hear your getting back to normal. You have still got to take it easy. I knew there would be something behind you not appearing at Peterborough. I didn't expect it to be such a serious thing though.

Thanks for your kind messages. Still a bit shakey and tired.

But went in to see my boys and girls yesterday morning for a couple of hours. Boy was it good to have a mug of workshop tea after all those months.

I was told that when I came out of my office I started talking gobble-de-gook looking a vey dodgy shade of battleship grey, then went quite and hit the floor like a sack of spuds.

I have told them I will be back for 4 hours a day 2 days a week in about a fortnights time. Just need to get my strength back and shake off this tiredness, which is a bit of a pain as I am having 10 hours sleep instead of the old 5 hours, I'm up for 2hours and then go back to bed for another nap.

Alan

You could always let Maureen run the show so that you can relax for a lot longer. ;)

Now Les that would be like putting an electric fire into a bath full of water with the power on. ;D

Maureen thinks the only tool you need to change a fuse in a plug is a knife :'(

I thought the electric fire warmed the water up. ;D

What else do you need to change a fuse in a plug apart from a knife. I have obviously been doing it wrong for years then. ;D

Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour.
