Airstream, the company that builds the iconic aluminium bodied American caravans, is launching a new European-friendly trailer in the UK.
The two-berth Airstream Bambi 422, on display at the National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show this week at the Birmingham NEC, weighs just 1080kg unladen (loaded towing weight 1320kg) and can be pulled by small family cars such as the Volkswagen Golf.
It incorporates a shower/washroom ('suitable for six-footers') and vacuum-flush toilet, a mid-galley kitchen and L-shaped lounge, despite its compact dimensions.
Pricing and specifications will be announced shortly; more info can be found at click to look inside
Must say it's looks a lot better than the usual boring beige boxes ordinary manufacturers normally give us. Do the ordinary manufacturers not realise, it is possible to give a caravan funky styling without making them heavy. Styling of caravan exteriors seems to be more or less the same as it was 25 years ago, yet before that it evolved with different styling for each era. Opportunities being missed by the industry i think.
