Not taken anything across on the Portsmouth to Bilboa route yet, saving that for summer 2010, then drive back to the Atlantic coast in France, just to save the long drive down. Have taken the mini-cruise option many times, just for a short break, and to top up on wine of course. Three nights and three and a half day round trip, stayed in all classes of cabin, all are clean and comfortable, but inside cabins really mess me head up, you can doze off, and when you wake, you're never sure what time it is, outside cabins have windows so you've got some idea!! Wide choice of food outlets, from good, if there is such a thing, motorway style self service through a very pleasent carvery, to the posh bistro, you'll never go hungry. Choice of bars, the largest, Silverstones showbar, where there is some entertainment in the evenings, also three or four times a year they run themed cruises, anything from pro darts players to soul music. Can get a bit rowdy, as many hen and stag partys are also held on board, but never had any real trouble, just high spirits and cheap drink. Quieter piano bar is always a nice way to relax with a drink. Talking of drink, a huge duty free shop, and everything is charged at Spanish rates of duty, way lower than French, and much much cheaper than U.K. Ummmmmm, have I rabbited on a bit to much, lol
