Hi Can anybody offer any advice on how to drain down the Alde Comfort heating system in my Abbey GT418T 1990 model as I dont have the manual for it and it does not have any glycol in the heating side of things, its to get very cold here in Scotland this week down to -3c so I would be grateful for a prompt responce. Thanks Dave
Firstly welcome to the forum. We have an alde wet system in our bessacarr, it is a very narrow upright boiler. The manual mentions the bleed screw for draining the water tank, but I have yet to find it. What I do is to open the hot tap and keep running until the water has run out and the boiler is no longer making gurgling noises, then leave all hot and cold taps fully open.
Alde have a web site with the manual on it try here
We have the Aldi wet heating system in our Fleetwood heritage, I've just had a look in the hand book and it says nothing about draining only toping up the system. We are away this weekend so I'll have a look at the system to see if there is anything I've not noticed before.
