hi all, does anyone know where or if i can get these, to go down the side of the van, i've been told because of it's age, (1991) i'd be better off going to a sign writer, also any input on removal of the damper would be handy.thanks geoff and wendy,
Try a company which specialises signs for vans and lorries. They can produce computer generated signage on self adhesive, weather proof vinyl. They are quite used to manufacturing in ones and twos. Take a look in your local yellow pages under signwriters or vehicle signwrighters. Use the old artwork as the pattern for the new ones or, make new ones to your own design. Getting the old ones off can be achieved but judicious use of a hairdryer (set to low heat) then clean the residual "goo" off with white spirit or, if that doesn't work, you could try de-icing fluid such as one might use on the windscreen on those frosty mornings we hope won't come back until next winter.
Doin't quite understand what you mean by "removal of the damper" so can't comment on that. Perhaps you might like to elaborate on that question.
as far as i'm aware the damper is behind the hitch, and stops you getting a kick up the backside when you break, and you have to take the original off to match it to a new one as they are not all the same.
