Two more nights to add to our not-very-great total this year, Mike, at Bailiff's Cottage CS, just about 12 or 15 miles from home (but millions of miles from any sort of town!)
Take it that was where you were going when I passed you on the A12 (near Martlesham Heath) on Sunday lunchtime!
My favourite place in the universe, Al - adult only, quiet, calm, very nice shower (only the one) spotless loos - Mrs W dropped me off, then went grand-daughter sitting, so I was in solitary splendor for the night . . . book, bottle of red, pork chops . . when can I go again!
Mike just worked it out. Total mileage with caravan 2,563 place to place. Could not believe it when I saw that of the total trip of 5,050 miles we had only done 76 miles less on trips. That is because we stopped at Ossiachersee site 6 weeks altogether out of the three months. Have now added the last trip to my website www.dvthompson.webs.com Titled Joys of Caravanning. Have had lots of feed back since I built it over the winter.
Outfit:- Elddis Crusader Storm and Kia Sorento XS.
Hi Mike Just had a bit of a strange weekend. 'Total towing milage' was 295 and 'total nights' was 4. BUT Thurs. 22 July...Upton Magna Village Hall £0 Fri. 23 July ... Bromsgrove Hall Car Park, Llanwrtyd Wells £0 Sat & Sun 24 and 25 July Lapwing Hall CS, Meerbrook, Nr Leek, Staffs. £10 per night. We spent Thursday afternoon until mid afternoon on Saturday helping the organiser of a cycling event with practicalities during the event. This included checking riders in on Thurs afternoon and Fri morning before the 6am start. Our main duties on Fri and Sat revolved around running a dormitory where riders could have short sleeps mostly about two or three hours depending on how fast they were managing to eat up the kms. The ride started at Upton Magna and did a 350km loop to Llanwrtyd via Bala and Dolgellau. Then it did another loop around the Pembrokeshire Coast and then another that went to Aberystwth before a final hop from Llanwrtyd to Upton Magna to make up a 1000kms between 6am Fri and 9am Mon. We did little bits of all sorts of things including delivering over night bags for riders that had dropped out back to Upton Magna on Saturday. Sun and Mon revolved around the Christening of a great niece at Merebrook Church followed by a garden party at Roche Grange, which is my sister's farm, in the afternoon. With a bit of luck, our next weekend away with Lily will be a little more relaxing!!!!!! Denise
