Thanks for the info. I am new to the caravan world so not sure about most things. Because of the size of the 302 I may be better getting a porch awning what do you think?
The problem your faced with is the lack of full awnings made in the small size required for an Explorer 302, if you decide to have a porch awning you have a bigger choice of manufacturers and models to choose from, but you need to make sure a porch awning will fit correctly and look "right" on an Explorer 302.
I'd phone Explorer and ask them about porch awnings on the 302 to see if they have any info.
I agree it needs to fit right. You don't want it fitted half way across a window or locker for example as not only will it restrict access, but it may scratch the window or be insecure in a breeze. If you can afford it it may be worth contacting Isabella as they record which of their porches and awnings fit which caravans. Otherwise, if you really are struggling to find one to fit, you could buy a second hand one in reasonable condition and send it to one of the companies that do alterations. I don't know if any one can recommend one, but there are often ads. for them in caravan magazines. We considered the 302 but were disappointed by the wallboarded shower. We thought there was plenty of room in the van and loved the layout. We were however going to get a full awning rather than a porch as there probably wouldn't be a lot of difference in weight and would be less poles and messing with the full awning as it fits securely in the awning channel. It would probably be quicker to put up on your baby van than a porch. Good luck with your search. Denise

I think thats the problem not being able to find out the info. I have telephoned Elddis but they don't seem to know and recommend I speak to the retailer, thought they would know about their own caravan. I did speak to an Elddis reatailer at the West Point caravan show and he agrees with you that a porch awning may cross the window etc and would think a full awning would be better. I am not expecting the caravan until April so I am just looking at what to get being new to the caravan world.
the other problem and its a old one is if you need to level the van and you need to raise the van on the door side your awning all of a sudden does not meet the floor well i got round this i asked NR for two more skirts just to stop the draft if needed but i have only had to use this once as most pitches are now level but i never had this with my Kampa rally 260 loads of length the video that chris did was very good i think we need more help videos i think
