La Cormoran Campsite at Ravenville plage, in Normandy
We visited this site in mid June 2010.
This campsite is large, it's a mix of Chalets, hedged pitches and areas for Motor homes.
A number of the pitches are 'Comfort' pitches with 10A EHU (Standard EHU are 6A Euro Blue), water and waste connections.
Though the waste connections were about 9" off the ground which lead to poor drainage of the caravan waste water, we ended up using the hedge for the waste.
The comfort pitches were €7/night extra, but if you stayed 7 nights the charge was waved and they still honored the 7 for 6 camping cheque discount for Gold Card holders.
So it ended up quite a cheap week.
Our 'Comfort' Pitch
2 Swimming pools both heated, the in-door pool was very warm.
There seemed to be lots to keep the kids happy.
The site is just across the road from a Beach, there is a 'Zebra crossing' but be careful as I don't think the French drivers know what these are for. .
The Utah landing beach is just about 15 miles down the coast road from the site.
Also St Mere Egalise is only about 5 miles in land, handy for a 'SuperU' supermarket with 24hr Petrol and a ATM should you require funds.
The Sites facilities seem good, toilets were UK style and there is a washing machine and tumble drier.
The only problem with this site is that it is just across the road from the beach, for the last 3 days of our stay stay there was a constant strong wind blowing in from the sea and we were pitched on that side of the site. If we had been nearer the middle of the site it might not have been as bad.
It didn't spoil our stay but it did clause a lot of flapping of the awning, which was a pain at night.
Would we use this site again............ Yes
