Hi, can ya stick us down for four nights at the southern motorhome show, all of 11 miles towed, and errr, lets see, £36, minus £6.50 it would have cost to get into the show for 3 days, thats £17.50 divided by 4, so about £4.38 a night, ta

88 miles towed and £14 per night + plus £4 because we stayed for nearly 46 hours so got nobbled by the late depature charge. On top of this we paid £1.50 for the electric hookup.
This was a bit of a nightmare CS. It was described as a very quiet 1/2 acre meadow with a pond and electric hookup on the Camping Club website In reality, Astbury Villa CS at Saughall, Chester, from our pitch, was a storage compound on hard core with fifteen pitches in use by touring units, plus three storage pitches, within 30 yards of a busy (day and night) main road. There were a couple of meadows off the main site but these only had a couple of units on each. There were showers etc which we didn't go in although Mothy visited the 'convenience' as we were about to leave and noted the regulations where pinned on the back of the door which claimed that if you arrived and there were already five units, then you must acertain that at least one was leaving before the end of the day before pitching. A bit of a joke really as they were totally disregarded by the obviously greedy owner. He had also just had electric 'metres' connected to the supply but had absolutely no idea how they worked. They were the sort that you buy cards for which each contain £1 of electric. When we arrived, the metre on the pitch only had 50p on so we said we weren't happy with that. If I needed my nebuliser then that would soon disappear. He then stuck his card in which increased it to £1.50. The following evening it was back down to 40p so we asked for more. He stuck the same card in which as it was empty, threw up an error code. He then claimed that it had actually credited us with another £1 but the metre said we still only had 40p. Needless to say we used gas for everything possible incase I needed the nebuliser but we also decided that for safety sake we would have to leave the following evening after we had fulfilled our commitments. We arrived back on site at about 6pm on that day, packing up in less than 30 mins, but still got clobbered for the late departure fee. We had looked forward to staying on what sounded like a really nice CS for several months since booking our pitch so we were really disappointed. As we had a commitment in the area and it was the Jubilee weekend we would never have found another pitch at short notice so didn't have any real option but to stay as long as necessary and then leave. The majority of CL and CS owners are really terrific and work hard to make sure everything is pleasing but I suppose there is one wrotten apple in every barrel. We have sent an email to the club for the first time since becoming members because we feel all members have a duty to each other and we wouldn't want someone else to be cheated like we were just because we negleted to draw this CS owners misrepresentation and flouting of all the rules to the clubs attention. We usually feel that we have found a goldmine when we stay on a new CL or CS but this time we felt cheated and ill used.
I have added all of those to the list. If I have made any mistakes please let me know.

Please add 3 nights at £5 a night with 100miles towed for our weekend at the Big Session music festival in the grounds of Catton Hall, Derbyshire. What an amazing weekend. I do wish folk would learn to tow in mud though. Putting your wellie to the floor sprays everyone around with mud and prevents you going anywhere, even if you are driving a big bruiser of a four by four. The CRV came in particularly handy as it not only got us on and off site in good form but it meant we were able to assist others with less able towcars.
