hi, im new here and also new to caravaning, i bought a wilks sterne de luxe(unsure of year or model as its all in german) its in good condition but as you'd expect needing a few jobs doing. the problem is that i cant figure out how the 12v electricity supply works, there is no sign of any housing or wiring to enable a battery to be fitted anywhere on the caravan at all. there is however next to the 230 v supply consummer unit/fuse box, a largeunit that i am assuming is some sort of 12 volt transformer/inverter. it has a 2 way on /off rocker switch and a red button(reset?) on it. is this the 12 v supply unit? if so does it work off the 230 supply, taking power and storing it till neeeded? or does it just convert 230 to 12 v ? if so then what runs the 12v supply independently of the 230 supply? this has me tearing my hair out and i need to find out how this works.please help. also if anyone has a handbook for this make of caravan (in english please) or knows where i could get one please let me know. thank you.
thanks for the info sorento, but its too late a model to suit mine, none of the spec or layout are similar ,i dont actually have an instruction book, its just stickers on the door and things in german, e.g "achung!electrik". thanks for your help anyway.
