As this will be our first proper caravan holiday, we have no list of tried and tested caravan sites, so I'm asking here for some ideas.
I live in Fleet Hampshire, just off the M3, and I'm looking for a good campsite, for me and my three kids to enjoy a break at.
It's easy for us to go West, with the M3 and A303 to use, or the M4, M5 at a pinch, but I don't want to go much futher than 100 miles. East is OK, but I don't know anything much in that direction other then Dover, Luton and Stanstead!
I'm a bit paranoide about lots of hills, but as long as it's a good road, so I can keep chugging along, and that does not go through the Ringwood traffic jam, I'll be happy!
Now, my bunch want a paddling pool, and play area, with lots of woods to explore! Me, I just want 240v hitch, so I can watch TV!
The area does not have to be on the coast, but a good supermarket nearby [+ -10 miles] would be good, and nice inexpencive places to visit.
Have a look at Wilksworth Farm Wimbourne Minster supermarkets close by,they have a outdoor pool don't know when the pool is open, also there is a play area for the children.
Another site is Webbers Farm near Exmouth no pool area but a huge play area for the children and a animal farm with goats, donkeys, horses and a small animal area.
The best one i can think of is the Caravan Club Site near Brixham Hillhead outdoor pool (heated) open from June to September, paddling pool for the children clubhouse and big choice of food and a play area for the children. A little expensive in high season.
