We need your help .. when we were away we had a burning type smell in the bathroom, we and our caravan repair shop thought it was the charger. The van went in for a new charger and service but they couldn't find anything wrong so didn't change it. Went away again and we again got the burning type smell in the bathroom. We thought we had pinned it down to the electrical socket in the kitchen area so again it went in for repair. Even on using the socket they said there was no smell but when they took off the consumer unit the neutral wire fell out ... would this cause the burning wire smell in the bathroom ?? We have a 1990 Abbey Vogue ... many thanks any help would be very much appreciated

A loose Neutral wire could cause a burning small. Is you Heater in the same space as the Consumer unit? Could be the smell got through the heating ducting and in to the bathroom (unlikely though). I suppose the only way to be sure is to use the van again and see if the smell has gone.

it would appear that the lose wire was the problem all fixed and for free as they should have picked it up on the service
