Went for a 10 mile bike ride this morning and it was 34 at 11am.
We are having a couple of nights back at La Grande Solonge, and I have to agree it's getting hotter 38 in the bus and about 36 outside most people on site are taking shade of the trees. This morning on our way here, we visited Guedelon (the Castle they are rebuilding using origonal methods) and a couple of French school kids colasped with the heat.
Can't complain, this is our last week over here, Sat night train back to UK.

Hi Mike, Taking a break from all that DIY & decorating, so if you could enter a few more nights I will be very grateful. As we now live in God's own County, only 80 miles towed down onto the Lizard, and so far, only 6 nights stayed in our favourite farmer's field, at the very acceptable rate of £3.00 per night. But we're hoping for a few more as we are planning on leaving the 'van here through the summer. Many thanks Neil Aka Lankidden
Hi Mike, Six more nights please, same field @ £3.00 per night, zero miles travelled. Hopefully the 'van will remain here until September, while we travel back and forth when we can, but I guess those miles don't count as they're not towing miles !!! Many thanks Neil

Had some minor excitement on the way home. On the M69 just before the A5 junction coming north, a twin axle caravan being towed by a Range Rover passed us going rather quickly. We were travelling at about 56-57 mph. About a 1-2 miles after it passed us the leading wheel on the nearside completely detached itself and was bowling along on the hard shoulder when we noticed it. The driver of the outfit was blissfully unaware of the situation until another motorist flagged him down. We stopped on the hard shoulder behind him to render assistance but it was obvious there was nothing we could. All four of the wheel bolts had long since disappeared. We noticed that the caravan had a distinct list to the left as the weight was now all on one wheel. When asked if he had a spsre wheel, he said "yes but I've just changed it because we had a blow out" Guess who had not tightened the wheel bolts up properly! The plastic wheel arch trim was wrecked by the wheel as it detached. As the saying goes, OOPS!
