Arrived Thursday late booking for the Mayday BH first impression very good met by lovely young lady who told us they had given us a hard standing pitch (thank goodness ) one of about 5 vacant because of vacant seasonal pitches, site looked very well looked after grass newly cut toilets immaculate ( first impression) Friday tea time started going down hill fast very fast the tent /rally field has 60 pitches for tent or caravans the site manager seemed to over look this = overcrowded the remaining hard standing pitches now occupied , The owner sited caravans on the grass in front of the hard standing pitches and all cars have to be parked on the road in front of the caravans (no room by the side of vans if an awning is erected now if you take the tents, seasonal pitches and additional caravans site was overcrowded ,back to toilets by Saturday evening toilets 3 TOILETS, URINAL and 3 SHOWERS in the gents DISGUSTING NOT CLEANED cant comment on the ladies would have if I had some washing to do as laundry was in the ladies toilet !!!! when we left 10 am Monday toilets still in need of a good cleaning Would we visit again will let you answer that

I'm guessing that you weren't too impressed. I have just looked on their website, I thought £18 pn on a fully serviced pitch was cheap then I noticed that that was the price for 2015. If the website is that far behind I am surprised to see the first part of your review.

Hi Les the price per night with EHU we paid £22.15 .£3 extra per night for BH I would imagine term time Mon /Fri site would be ok we used showers Fri morning no problem but would not use their facilities after that as they had not been cleaned since we arrived on the Thursday morning shame really just overcrowding and not cleaning facilities enough .Frank PS I go away quite often on my own in my camper and use sites if I need to refill / empty waste water ,toilet also to wash some clothes if needed but the having laundry in the ladies is a step to far for me

It does look like a nice site, and £22.15pn sounds quite good for a fully service pitch considering it's not a CL. It sounds like the problems you had were due to overcrowding, so it would seem the best time to go would be midweek term time. Do you go to France or anywhere else in Europe?

Hi Les overcrowding did,nt bother us it was just the lack of hygiene in the toilet/ shower block after Friday we used our own. Europe !! France 3 times Brittany Royan once last one 3 years ago we went over to go to Oradour-Sur-Glane = chilling then had a short tour !!! Pornic ,Le Mont Saint-Michel much nicer than Cornwall, then finally met up with some friends at an Aire (we had MH then ) about 50 miles east of Calais hoping to get to north eastern France and fit in trip to Germany late August early September, regards, Frank

We are off to St George De Didonne next to Royan on 27th via the tunnel,Georgestopping at the Aire de Baiae Somme then down to Camping Bois Soleil at St George De Didonne. We went to Oradour - Sur - Glane about 3 years ago. I think with it being left as it was at the end makes you realise what the people went through.

Always thought an Aire was for MH,s only, just checked .campercontact.com and saw 2 caravans parked up there or is this Aire an Aire de Repos ? if so are they safe to stay over never used them only for fuel and to let dog stretch his legs and empty his tanks Oradour-Sur-Glane is the only war site we have visited I have the menin gate ceremony on my bucket list , some others are a balloon flight , to get to Andorra and one I,ve tried to do twice but weather beat us is St Kilda

We were hoping to go to Ypres this year on our way down, but we have had to cut our time down due to appointments. We have put it off until next year on our way home. Les
