Thankyou. I put a review on here and if you read it you will see I was not very impressed. I thought the toilet block was very poor and even though we complained nothing was done. It is not a place we will return to. We did love the area.

Hi Mike,
Please put us down for 6 nights at Firs Cottage, Stretton Westwood, Much Wenlock No. 1292 in the current C&MC sites book.
6 nights, £16.00 per night per fully serviced pitch, 163 miles towed.
This is a little gem! All hard standing, beautifully kept, manicured grass. Mr and Mrs Rowe are very pleasant and helpful. A very quiet and peaceful site.
There is plenty to do around the site. Wenlock Edge car park is about 3/4 miles away back towards Much Wenlock. If you are members of the National Trust, you are spoilt for choice of properties to visit. There are approximately eight properties within easy striking distance all of which are worth a visit. Wightwick Manor really impressed us. Much Wenlock is worth a womble. It is a typical old market town with plenty of interesting shops and old houses. We only looked at the outside of the shops, honest.
Fuel as would be expected in less populated areas, is more expensive the you local ASDA or Sainsburys with diesel at about £1.35/litre. The best plot is to go into POI on your satnav and pull up the petrol stations and top up when you are out and about.
It is also a good idea to do the shopping when you are out and about. Again POI/Petrol stations will take you to the main supermarkets. There is a convenience store at the petrol station on the A458 in Much Wenlock, but a better bet is the Spar at the bottom of the High Street.
There is a plethora of pubs. Starting at the top of the High Street There is the Fox, then on the right the Talbot and the George and Dragon near the bottom of the High Street with parking outside the door. The Fox changed hands on the 2nd May so is a bit of an unknown quantity. There are others but they are the most convenient.
For food, I can recommend the George and Dragon. Straight forward plain cooking which is delicious and a real plateful at around £8.00 for a main course. The atmosphere in the pub is very pleasant, The clientele seems to be retirees who are very friendly. The manageress keeps the youngsters well under control. I am reliably informed that the Talbot does a good meal, again at around £8.00 for a main course.
I do not recommend the Gaskell Arms Hotel on the A458 at the top end of the High Street. The food is, to say the least, pricey, mediocre and not very well cooked. We complained to the manager who tried to wriggle out by saying the regular chef was not on duty and his 2i/c was cooking on that particular evening which, ofcourse is not the diner's problem. That was the only fly in the ointment in a thoroughly enjoyable little break
