Hi Thanks for the info that tap is like the one I wash room the one I have is a fold down one fitted into the side of the sink have gone for a new tap as it was the easiest way while I was at it I gave the bottom of the sink a coat of hammerite as there were some rust showing on the bottom of the bowl where the enamelling missed it Thanks again Yours Scout

I would think the first thing you need to do is find where the water is getting in Is it getting in from a moulding or trim on the outside or from a leaking water pipe on the inside find the source of the leak and you will know how big a job you have
Do not believe the weather man we live just over the border into Lincolnshire and our street was flooded last night good luck Yours Scout

Fully agree with Dickers we tried this when we had our first van with a shower just to see how much water we used. We used the same formula and it surprised us just how little was used and we did not scrimp on the water we used Yours Scout aka Brian & Carole

Hi Tomo welcome to caravanning if you have survived for 20 years in a tent you should be in luxury in a van We do most of our caravanning off mains run water heater and fridge on gas when on site, we only put water heater on as needed We have a 110 amp battery and a small 12"x6" approximately solar panel if you go for a larger one you need a controller so it does not over charge the battery Have changed all lights to led's and have had no problems Our van is an Abbey Aventura 314 2003 Hope this helps if not just ask away I will do my best to help as will other members Yours Scout (Brian)

Thanks for the reply Dickers the four we have short listed are well within the towing limits for our van but it is still worrying how some people go into towing We were at a country fair the other weekend when someone had problems with their water and gas the van was bought on E Bay three months ago and not looked at until a week before they were due to go away with it there was a caravan dealer with an accessary shop on site so he sorted the problems out for just over £100 and they said well that's it's service for this year just hope I am not next to them next time they go away Yours Scout

Thinking of removing the carpets near the door and kitchen area of our van and replacing it with vinyl / cushion flooring has any one tried it if so how did it work out was it easier to keep clean? As we spend most of our time on grass at country fairs or steam rally's and are forever picking dried grass out of the carpets Yours Scout (Brian)

Hi go for it! We bought a Vango one last year at the caravan and camping show at the NEC in February we visited all the stands that had the blow up awnings had them let them down and blow up again also found some in the camping hall and they were more helpful than some in the caravan halls The best part I have found is the wife likes using the pump to blow up the air pols so can't be bad. Far better than poles or should that be a divorce in a bag. Yours Scout
