Sorry I haven't been on here for a while but I have decided that with the problems with my spinal arthritis it is time to sell our Bessie. I did promise Maureen I would keep for as long as I could manage it.
My question is I have a Fiat Panda and I am looking for your opinions on what would be the best way to tow it, my 3 options are;
1. "A frame" drawback is you have to leave the keys in the ignition and you rack up mileage on the vehicle.
2. Car transporter trailer. Just concerned with space being occupied on sites.
3. Car towing dolly. Small and compact.
A bicycle or motorcycle are out of the question.
Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on the above.
Alan and (Maureen).

Well summoned the courage to get away on my own and with fond memories of my Maureen.
Can you put me down for 6 nights @ £14.36 pn. At Kessingland CCC, 10 miles towed.
I know it isn't far from home but I needed to prove to myself I can go away alone.

Hi Paul, sorry to hear of your plight with that dreadful disease. My Maureen had Pancreatic cancer last year, and all I could do was watch her waste away to next to nothing in 38 days. I do hope that you are on the mend.

I haven't been on here for a while but it doesn't mean that I haven't been checking the forum from time to time. Well I sold our house and I am on the move on the 6th March. I am moving from South Essex to a bungalow in Suffolk/Norfolk boarders. After some remedial path work I will be able to house our caravan at home.
I am looking forward to exploring Suffolk and Norfolk much more closer.

I am on the move to the Suffolk / Norfolk boarder, hopefully by the beginning of December. Everything here in Essex is now sold. I am staying at Kessingland C&CC for a week from 28th September, then I am putting Bessie into storage near Beccles. I will park the van at my new home once I have moved in and the winter weather has started to end.

In June my Thetford toilet decided to stop flushing. So I have now replaced it. It is a relatively easy job to do. I have some photos below as a guide, but there are plenty of videos on You Tube for the same job.
When you press the flush button, nothing happens, so follow these steps.
1. You need to check that you have power to the switch on the loo, I did as the 12v lighting dimmed when I operated the button. However, you have 2 fuses, one is inside the van on you fuse board, the over is hidden by the waste tank in the side compartment.
The fuse in the toilet compartment. If t you have power to this point and the fuse is ok, it is either a seized pump or a faulty switch.
You need to prise the button cover off gently with a flat blade screwdriver, and remove sealant. There are 4 x head screws to remove then you can unclip and remove the pump. The impellor on mine had seized up. When you cut the wires be careful to leave plenty of cable to reconnect the new pump.
The new pump has male and female crimped connector with a shrink wrap sleeve to keep the joints water tight. Re- fitting is the reverse of the removal, but make sure you put the feed pipes back on the flush port the right way around, or else you will get blow back.
Sorry there is a lack of photo's but the water tank, parts and cables get awfully greasy with is residue from using the pink flush liquid.
If you have any problems please message me. I am only too happy to offer advise.

Sorry it's been a while, but it has been a very difficult time for me to come to terms with the loss of her, just 38 days after diagnosis. Maureen had a good send off 30 plus people turned up at the house to see her off. We stopped outside the school were she worked for 22 years where the Staff and pupils stood to pay their respects, there were at least 200 people there.
We booked the small Chapel which held 50, but she would have laughed as we got this wrong 80+ filled the Chapel. I didn't really know how popular Maureen was within the community and it made myself and my family so proud to see how many people took the time to pay their own respects.
I am still going to sign off Alan & Maureen as a lasting respect to a much loved Wife and ardent caravanner.

I am venturing out for the first holiday in our caravan without Maureen, it is my first holiday without Moggie in 39 years. My youngest Daughter is coming with me for moral support. We are going to fulfil some of Maureen's bucket list.
It will be a trip of very mixed emotions.

There is no way to dress this up, Maureen was admitted to Basildon Hospital with a blotted stomach and a suspected hernia, a week ago. We have found out last night that she has a tumour on the neck of her Pancreas. It is an aggressive type of cancer and inoperable. We are not sure how long Moggie (Maureen) will be with us, but I will keep you all informed. I have post some photo's from happier times. Attachments:

Hi all,
We haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, we are still alive and kicking in Essex. We just have not stopped since last Christmas, as Wizzard said in the song "I wish it could be Christmas every day". Well it has been, Bessie has remained in storage since last year without turning a wheel.
However, we have now decided that 2016 is the right time to retire and move to either Norfolk or Suffolk. So with very healthy balance sheets both businesses will be on the market in March along with the house.
We hope everyone on the forum are keeping well.
Best wishes,
Alan & Maureen
