We had intended to overnight at Picon del Conde near Burgos, but after 4 days of driving and rising temperatures we decided 2 nights at this seemingly pleasant Camp site were in order. However after spending a very restless night because of the road noise (the site is in between the N1 main road and A1 motorway), we decided to stick to the original plan and move on. The site is behind a Bar/Restaurant. The señora that we dealt with did not speak English at all, but I had learnt enough Spanish to book on to a site.
Pitches were quite tight for our large twin axle van, but with the aid of the motor mover we got it sited. The service block looked new, but the workmanship was typical Spanish and a couple of the tiles were missing already and some fixtures were loose. But every thing worked, with plenty of free hot water for the showers. The electrics were typical spanish aswell, 2 pin continental sockets, these are not like the French and the plug can be turn though 180o if you have reverse polarity and the cover hanging open the electic box (which I closed)
I had read, before deciding on this site, that the owner had a thing for strange statues and objects and I have to say that this was reflected in the miniature Pyramids in the kiddies play ground.
There was a swimming pool but unfortunately this was closed, which seemed strange for June. If it wasn’t for the road noise I would recommend this site.
