Filey. What a cracking little place that is. Just had our summer break and went there for two days. Loved it. The park there is great for kids, with a great little mini golf. A great cafe straight out of what you would expect from a seaside resort in the park. If you can eat all of the Yorkshire pud with sausage then I salute you. Great beach, wish we had taken the kids there instead of Whitby (due to the weather). Stayed overall for 12 nights at West Ayton, near Scarborough. That site is lovely, made perfect by superb helpful wardens. West Ayton has a lovely pub not too far away with a really nice beer garden.
I enjoyed Peasholm Park as I have a picture that is 33 years old with me and my grandfather watching the naval battle. This time I watched it with my 3 year old daughter and her grandparents. Money can't buy those memories.
Filey, though, stole my heart as the beach is lovely, and an excellent coast guard for pulling out the jeep that was four foot under water . I enjoyed watching that with a lady who was a 70+ resident of Filey, she had some lovely tales to tell. I'm sad, no, I'm not, but I enjoyed reading the plaques on the benches for people who have enjoyed that resort and mark me down with you.
Now, on my fridge, is a Filey Lifeboat fridge magnate. I'll look on that and remember a holiday with fondness
