Sorry to here about your clutch, I know the feeling I had the same thing last year. I have now got a Powrtouch mover and my only regret is that I didn't get it before, it moves it very slowly but speed doesn't matter. Although I haven't tried it yet but apparently it will take the van up a 1 in 4 slope. I have got to say they are not cheap but are in my opinion well worth it. They will fit it anywhere you like or you can fit it yourself.
Hi Chris, sorry to hear about your clutch. Motor movers are usually good for a 1 in 4 slope. See HERE for the Powrtouch models.
After having a heart attack in '05 I had a mover fitted to the Elddis we had, best thing since sliced bread. We wouldn't have been able to have our present Twin axle van if it wasn't for the mover we had fitted.
We have always used Powrtouch, their 5 year 'no quibble' guarantee is second to none. I believe they will also do a 'price match' for a similar mover.
Elnagh Clipper 90.......... Real Names Mike & Hazel
I wne t on that site but noticed they are in christchurch - Im in Cardiff - I like the idea of the pay monthly option!!!
Chris there is no worry about them fitting it, they will fit anywhere in the country. If you ring them they are very polite, respectful and very helpful. Unlike some firms they do not try to sale you the mover they will just answer any queries you have and let you make up your own mind.
We have a truma/carver (which I believe is the predecessor to the powrtouch) fitted to our caravan which came of the last one, I tried to get a reduction of the last caravan by having it removed before purchase but the dealer said it wasn't worth their time. I'm glad we kept it as I find it is worth it's weight in gold especially for hitching up on my own
Has anyone out there fitted a mover themselves? I am very skint as a result of clutch and two weeks ago had a caliper seazed! Also in the middle of fitting our bathroom so the endless trips to B and Q are costing a small fortune!

bought my powertouch off george dudley secondhand but all most brand new last year fitted it in about 3 hours including the electrics on my own very good instructions came with it great bit of kit also best to110 amp battery rather than 85 amp peter
Firstly - I have fitted the mover - and upgraded to the 110amp battery. It works great - reminds me of having a remote control car when I was a kid! Goes up my drive ok and we used it on a slope on a site in chepstow on saturday. I have to make a minor adjustment when it stops raining - that being that the inside of the mover is rubbing slightly on the inside wall of tyre when it is engaged. Other than that - not bad for a first time fitting. Got a bit of a sore neck from lying under the van - but better than paying for someone elses bad neck.
Secondly - I got the mover from Bolsover Caravans for a total of £588.50 that was £569.00 for the mover and £19.50 for the deliver.
I found this price advertised on ebay - some of the same model were much more.
Delivery was very prompt - I ordered it at 2.30pm and it was at my house at 10am the next day!
was good to get a night away in the van although it has been used quite a bit for showering recently as I was doing the bathroom which is also now complete.
We are thinking South of France or Spain in the summer - can't wait!!
Hi Chris, We were pleased to see you got your mover fitted all OK it takes a lot of work out of moving the van, you seem to have got a very good deal! We have had a few things from purple line and find all their stuff 1st class.
