Hi Carper. A while ago we were looking for a laptop, and found it’s to be just as difficult as trying to workout the best deal when buying a mobile phone. After much research on the Internet and in PC World etc, we ended in our local Comet and bought a TOSHIBA SAT L300-19Y every thing you ask for except the card reader, but cheap enough on ebay. One question I asked in the different shops was, which makes are returned for repair most often and Fujitsu Siemens & HP came out worst.
Well i got my wife a acer aspire 5332 £329 from yes Tescos and it has the new windows 7 which i have vist and it seems better comes with 3GB memory and it is very fast and it stays very cool my daughter has a compaq and it gets very hot
I know this was originally an old thread but I bought a Dell laptop at Xmas as it was just about the only make with a built in reader that takes Xd cards. My Olympus camera uses a non-standard USB lead that I have lost. After I bought it I found out that my Epson all-in-one printer has a slot for them also. Doh....
I bought my Acer Aspire Timeline 5810TZ from Tesco Direct £475 has multi card reader built in and everything you have asked for and more. The operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium which is exellent.
