This is quite a nice Camping & Caravan Club CS site. The cost in 2011 was £10/night including EHU and Awnings, dogs are welcome. The site does storage and there are a couple of Rally fields, we were told that they had had a Rally with over 100 units,I must admit I would not have liked being on the site with that many other users. There is a new Toilet block with 2 toilets and a Free Shower.
There is some road noise though this quietened down during the weekend, you can also expect some aircraft noise as Manchester Airport is fairly close. The site is about 5 minutes drive from the M56 so easy to get to. The site owner, Richard Lee, was very friendly and helpful, we will certainly use this site again.
There are a number of fishing lakes in the area of the site so care may be needed with any younger children (though the lakes are mainly fenced off). Only one of the lakes is available for campers to fish on. The cost is £5 per day though you will need a Carp licence and Mat ? (this is what we were told, I have no idea)
We had a rude awakening on the Sunday morning.
This fellow flew (just) over the Camp site and landed in an adjacent field.
Nearby Northwich is a lovely little town with proper shops including a green grocer and a fish monger in the town centre. The nearby village of Great Budworth has a terrific pub, a really interesting church AND at terrific teashop on a farm! ;D
