Being a new incarnation of a previous model, I thought it may be informative to relay my experiences with our new van.
We didn't get off to a good start. We went to collect the Xplore at the appointed time from Glossop Caravans. See my post in the welcome section regarding the problems with the Phantom tracker fitted. Hopefully it has been sorted out, but due to our oversight we haven't got an alarm fitted. I wrongly assumed that it would come with a factory fitted one like our 2 previous vans. I am a bit puzzled as to how the tracker can tell if it is being moved legally or being stolen. I had a false alarm today when I went into the van so I'll have to ring Phantom tomorrow for more information. Our other caravan had a plipper to arm the alarm and I assume it disabled the tracker when the plipper was used to switch the alarm off.
Our first impressions are that the Xplore will give us all we need for pleasant comfortable holidays.

We have never had a tracker fitted, but our friends have had a van with one and they had to travel with side lights on, this switched the tracker off, so did not cause an alarm to the tracker guys. Not sure if this would apply to yours, do the instructions say anything??

The instructions are very poor and the web site is no better. I don't know when the tracker would be activated, I have to turn the van around on the motor mover before I can hitch up, whether this would activate it I don't know. I am hoping that it isn't activated until it has travelled a short distance, I will try and find out next week.

Just a thought, I suppose the tracker is active all of the time but only comes into use when the control room receives a call from the subscriber to say it has been taken illegally. Pretty obvious I suppose, but I have brain ache after the past week.

I've had the phantom tracker on this Caravan and the last one. It has gone off on a few occasions and Phantom send me a text to let me know and ring me within 5 minutes. Luckily on all of these times it was mainly for a flat battery.I set it off accidentily a couple of times whilst in Spain. Phantom called me as soon as I got off the Ferry, they don't receive anything when you are abroad until you get back to England.

;)Ive had the Phantom tracker fitted since 2006, the first model and then upgraded to the second model, and I know there is the latest model which I have not upgraded to. I have had quite a few false calls over time and you have to phone their technical department and have them turn down the sensitivity. this has now worked for me and I no longer get false calls. I also have a hidden switch which turns on and off the motion sensor when I move the caravan. Have you got one fitted and they have not told you? you may need to ask whoever installed it. When its working properly its a great piece of kit and gives you a sense of security.
Good Luck
