Carsington WatersKirk Ireton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 3JL 01335 370903 We really liked this site, large well laid out Pitches, however because the site is in a Pine forest there is a lot of shaded Pitches and if you require Sat TV pick your pitch carefully. There is only one Toilet/Shower block which was upto the usual Caravan Club standards. There are numerous service points around the site and one Motorhome Service point. The Entrance and Exit is guarded by card operated barriers. Digital TV was OK though some channels did occasionally break up but we only have a Status 'Flying Saucer' Arial. Mobile phone signal was also Iffy and the Sites WiFi was the worst we have come across good signal strength but very slow data speeds. The Carsington Reservoir is about a 15 minites walk down hill. There is an 8 mile path right around the reservoir. On the walk around the Reservoir we came across a building full of wooden furniture. You Hum it and I'll Play it Trooper[/div]

You Hum it and I'll Play it Trooper Pleased you placed some photos of the site, we live about 15 miles from here, the last time we were there was over 18 years ago, I remember the wind blowing through the vans vents, which made us change the van to a newer warmer model. Nice walk to the waters though. We also rallied in the field further down the road on the same side and also a site at the top end junction (opposite end to where you came in from). Did you frequent the pub at the top junction (The Knockerdown)during your stay? Paul

Paul (sorento 08) we never noticed any Pubs, but I don't tend to look for them these days. It seems a lovely area, I'm sure we will be back.
