Just booked 2 one night stays on the way down to the Euro-tunnel in March, Bladen Chains £21 per night and Blackhorse Farm £16.30 per night. They are both Caravan and Motorhome Club sites, both booked for midweek, so why the difference in prices?
As Hazel retires at the end of February we are going to try a Long Stay trip to Spain, neither of us are keen on long ferry trips so we are going via the Euro-tunnel and then through France.
Bought some Snow Chains just in case and when trying them noticed the front Tyre tread is a bit worn (3.5mm) so will replace them before we go. Incidentally the rear Tyres still have 7mm tread left.

Hi Mike, I am sorting out my first trip in "Moggie the Motorhome" it will be about 6 weeks starting in March. It will be a see family and friends trip, starting in Cambridge, the Milton Keynes, taking in a Phoenix meet up at Stratford, then on to Gloucester, South Wales, Hampshire, Kent and Essex then home back to Suffolk. That should should clean the cobwebs out and get me into the life of Motorhoming.

Nothing planned yet, even in the UK. Tend not to book until a week or two before we are due to arrive. Overseas travel will very much depend on health issues and we have given up on long term planning!!!

Alan & (Maureen) Al that sounds like a good shake down trip, it might be any idea to have a few days away locally before that just to make sure you haven't forgotten to pack something. Les, do you have any particular sites in mind on your way down through France? Mike

Mike , I agree, all sites for the same club should be the same price. You've got a good price for Black Horse farm,we were charged £32 last time we went there on the way to France for one night on a ferry pitch and that was away at 4 a.m., not even 12 hours on the site! We stopped halfway the previous year on way to Cornwall at Poolsbrook caravan and motorhome Club and was charged £30 and that was getting there at 7 p.m. and leaving at 6 a.m. ? Not away till about February now but hopefully it'll be once every 6weeks or so .then Greece in the summer via plane saying we had poor weather this year in holland , hopfully back to france for 2o19 !! Happy touring .

Due to having a back operation end of November and unable to drive for 7 weeks, we cancelled our usual Christmas 10 nights away as we felt towing might irritate, so we have re-booked 2nd week in Jan 18, (a lot cheaper is a bonus) we have others in the pipeline for March a full month away in June, then Sept.
Looking forward to getting out in the van again and also testing the replaced (under warranty) Ozio seating out.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all
Paul
