Hello and thank you for providing this forum.
I was wondering if anyone can help us. We are new to caravaning and have brought a Coachman Lazer 2007 its been used only in on one site, we've brought it home and we can't get the leisure battery working. We've put a new battery in but still can't get to run off the battery. Do we need to convert it somehow??
Many thanks

Hi Trotty and welcome to the forum. Such a pity you are having problems on your early outing.
As you may imagine, it is difficult to diagnose problems at a distance when one is based in Leicester.
If you haven't got the owner's manual, as Doolz has said, try on the internet for a PDF of the manual. Another thought that crossed my mind was that you may like to try contacting Coachman's Customer Service department. If you bought the caravan from a dealer, ask their Service Department. Presumably you have some sort of warranty if you had the caravan from a dealer.
So, at the risk of telling Granny how to suck eggs, here goes.
If all is well, the interior lights should work from the caravan battery. If not, as the saying goes, "Houston, we have a problem!"
As Doolz has said, make sure that the battery terminals are clean, that the leads are connected the right way round (red to +ve and black to -ve) and the connectors are tight. Locate the fuse panel which is usually at the front of the caravan on the fire bulkhead between the front locker and the accommodation under the seat but varies from maker to maker. On that panel there will be a fuse of around 20-30 Amps rating. This is the main fuse. Alternatively, there may be an "inline fuse" of a similar rating in the main red cable from the battery to the fuse panel. Check that the fuse is intact. This is usually quite obvious if you look at the fuse. There is an "S" shaped section of the fuse "wire" visible through the plastic of the fuse. If this is broken, the fuse is duff.
Have a look at the caravan control panel. There may be a switch which has a picture of a caravan on it. If there is, this switches the caravan battery off and on via a relay in the accommodation area. Around the year of your caravan, some of the manufacturers were fitting control panels manufactured by "Nordeletrica". If it is, the caravan battery to caravan on off switch is usually bottom left of the panel, This is a diaphragm switch which, when operated, sends a signal to a relay on the relay panel telling it to switch the battery on to the caravan. As an aside, "Nordeletrica" are not celebrated for their reliability. I had to replace the control panel in my 2008 Sterling for a similar fault.
Other than that, I am at a loss to make any further suggestions.
If you do happen on the solution, please put a post on the Forum with a note of the solution.
Dickers.
