We had 2 nights away at Sandringham CCC. We left home at 10am to give us plenty of time to arrive there, at the services in Peterborough and decided to have a break. We were there for about half an hour and started off again taking our time so we didn’t arrive too early. On arrival at Sandringham we were waiting to be booked in when a gentleman came to my window and said your electric cable is broken. I had a look and it looked as though it had been cut as the piece still attached to the car was straight across and the other piece was frayed. We were taken to our pitch I put the Pitched the Caravan only to find I had lost my attachment for leg lock ( the short piece that fits into the leg lock) so had to wind it down by hand. I rang the mobile service agent and had to leave a message. The next day having not heard from them I tried again once again answer phone, so I found a couple of other places who either were to busy or to far away. I ended up contacting Mayday to rescue me, obviously having no lights it would have been illegal to tow.I told them to pick the Caravan up on Tuesday to take it home they agreed to do that. At about 1345 I received a phone call to say they would be with me in 20 minutes to take me home I said I hope not as you will be 24 early. I wasn’t due to leave till Wednesday but had received a phone call from my daughter Sunday pm to say I had to go to Coventry hospital on Wednesday for a scan at 0900hrs. We decided to go out for the rest of the day and it was very enjoyable. Tuesday morning we walked to Sandringham and passed Poohs house. We arrived back at the Caravan at 1300hrs had a snack and waited for the rescue, they turned up at 1530. I said I will use the mover to line the Caravan up the battery in the remote was dead and I couldn’t find my spare.the driver manoeuvred the van into place and loaded it onto the truck. We all left, we obviously got home before him when he arrived he unloaded the Caravan. The next problem was getting it on the drive, but the pavement slopes up slightly before getting on the drive. The driver said don’t worry and he helped to get it on the drive and positioned it perfectly. To me he was perfect and did more than he needed to. Despite all the mishaps we still enjoyed the trip. I have just got a mobile engineer to sort out the cable on 21st which is great as we are due to go away on 5th June. Let’s hope that, that will be more relaxing.

It looks like you have fallen foul of the we hate caravans brigade. Good that you managed to get it all sorted out in the end. Dickers.

Dickers I thought that, although this is the first time in about 30 years that we have had any problems at all.
