Les, I bought a charger from Halfords some 10 years ago and it is still going strong. I bought this model, although not cheap because it covered a range of batteries from lead acid to sealed leisure Gel types. Just looked on Halfords site and it isn't sold by them anymore, but a similar model retails at £60.

Is this battery or charger ? Battery wise i have a 13o amp Banner in ours . The 11o went flat back in February so I complained with the van being new from May so they upgraded me to a 130 amp for £2o which is worth about £13o 😥

Talking of battery chargers, last year a salt cellar got tipped over in the shelf above the sink in the caravan. Thinking nothing of it, we cleared up the salt which had found its way down off the shelf on to the sink work top.
When we came to sort the caravan out for the new season this year, the charger wasn't working.
Upon investigation, the salt had fallen down from the shelf, down the back of the panel which keeps the seat back off the caravan wall, had landed on the the charger and through the cooling holes into the circuitry. Over the winter, the dampness in the air had been absorbed by the salt and we now had a coating of salt water on the charger casing and on the circuitry inside the case. We all know that salt water and 230vac/12vdc are not good bedfellows.
One new charger and the thick end of £80 later, the system was working again, this time with a short length of duct tape over the holes in the top of the charger case to stop any residual salt getting into the works.
Getting rid of the salt was a bit of a bind as the shelf/shelves are all double skinned and a pig to get at to vacuum the salt grains out. We noticed when we were putting the caravan to bed for the winter that there are still some salt grains coming down from the shelf. Needless to say, the offending salt cellar has been removed.

Thanks for all the replies. I should have said that it was not the Caravan charger that was the problem. I have found one that seems to be ok although it is only cheap I am hoping that my 80 solar panel will keep the battery charged enough. This is the one. battery charger
