This site is directly off the A50, which can be very busy, especially at the weekends road noise can be intrusive, during the day, but does settle down during the night. The site gate access is visible with 2 white flag poles, all pitches are fully serviced, with 10amp EHU, with slabs/hardstanding for caravan wheels and jockey wheel pitches 2 & 3 have slabs for motor-homes, set in 0.75 acres. There is a nice new toilet building with hot & cold water, with electric hand drier and auto lighting. Free Wi-Fi is provided (password provided). The Chemical empty point (or sluice, as it is described by the owner Laurence) is quite high up on steps and I do wonder how people manage, if they have some form of disability. Recycling and general waste bins are located at the main entrance. Directly in front of the pitches, is also a paddock with a donkey (rescued, and can be sometimes very vocal) and a cob horse which the owners Laurence & Annette, use to drive it locally with a cart. The owners have placed seating and small ponds there too and hanging baskets bring colour too. Awnings need to have breathable ground sheets. Solar LED lighting has been placed along the fencing. Each pitch has its own wooden picnic bench. A fire pit is also available with wood available in plastic bins.
There are 2 pubs within 1 mile from the site, sadly we never spent any time in them, so cannot confirm if they were good or bad. NT properties nearby worth a visit are; Little Morton Hall & Biddulph Grange. The Anderton canal boat lift visitors centre.
The owner, Laurence, greets you and directs you to site and helps you to pitch, he does not like the use of motor movers. Grass is not collected when cut, so this will find its way into your outfit, if you are not careful. Balti meals can be ordered by phone and delivered to you. Laurence provided information sheets.
As we only visited here for the weekend, we would definitely visit this site again, to explore more of the area.
