Looks like a very nice site and cheap. Just out of curiosity how far is it from the nearest beach? Thanks Les Hi Les I would say Combe Martin is the "closest" which is approx 7.5 miles www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/51.1547644,-3.9515383/51.2068556,-4.0396444/@51.1791362,-4.0574352,18380m/am=t/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0 (Please copy and paste the above link into your browser) Regards Paul

Some road noise could be heard but we did not find this intrusive. Access to the site from the main road has a single track lane for the last ¼ mile or so to the site with no passing places and has a lesbian woman on one side. We would still recommend this site How do you know she was a Lesbian ? I have now altered the 'Banned' words to allow Dyke Trooper Missed that one Thanks for changing..

View of site from gate Date visited – Revisited June 2016 Unit - Car/Caravan/Awning Price per night - £15.00 incl We have revisited this site again (previously June 2014) This is a working farm and a Caravan Club CL it is directly opposite the actual farm, as this is a working farm, you need to enjoy the “fresh” aroma. Horse riding stables are also close by. This site is approx ¾ acres flat grass pitches (some small levelling blocks were needed though) they are in a line but well spaced out, with three hard standings at the first three pitches. Each pitch had its own water tap and EHU point. Facilities for recycling are available with chemical empty point with water tap for flushing (See photo below right). Note if you intend to use your Aquaroll mains water adaptor (7-metre pipe should be adequate). Waste grey water is emptied in the hedge so take plenty of grey waste water pipe as well. There are now dog walking facilities on site, so owners no longer need to exercise them down the lane. View of Dog Walk area Recycling Point and Chemical Disposal Point Great care is needed when using the site approach road; it is very narrow so the arrival “after 12.00” really needs to be adhered to. The Slimbridge Wetlands is “a must” if you like birds (feathered type See below) Well worth the £13.10 each admission fee, and can be walked to (1 mile) from site, parking is free at Slimbridge Wetlands. There is a pub called the Tudor Arms which serves food each day, we walked to the canal and along the towpath nearby and then back to the pub for lunch before walking back (approx 40mins each way along the back road). We did encounter some “loud music” during our stay this time, not sure if it was from the farm or other nearby farms or from the Beer Fest held on land adjacent to the Wetlands Wildlife, but thankfully it quietened down at midnight. Very friendly owners, they leave you well alone. They have just opened a small shop in the village for essential shopping. Tesco’s is in Cam along with fuel stations I would still recommend this site despite the music noise.

Site entrance from the lane View of site from toilet empty and motor-home drain Date visited - June 2016 Unit - Car/Caravan/Awning Fully Serviced Pitches Price per night - £12.00 incl www.devoncl.co.uk The road to this site is narrow in places with few passing places a 20% gradient greets you before you arrive at the turning to take you down the single grassy track to the site, but when you arrive you will not be disappointed each pitch is fully serviced and set in an absolutely peaceful area with no light pollution. The site is situated on the borders of Devon and Cornwall. Stunning views can be seen from pitches 3 & 4. The 5 pitches are set in ¾ acres with walks in the owner’s conservation area with a path leading down to a lake which has been recently landscaped. Serviced pitch layout All five pitches are fully serviced and have level hard standings, own EHU, drinking water supply; grey water disposal point and free Wi-Fi connection for light use only (no Skype etc) and picnic benches. Dogs are welcome on site and can use the owner’s own private mixed woodland. The site is located centrally between the towns of Launceston, Holsworthy and Okehampton. The Cornish villages of Tintagel and Boscastle are within 30 minutes drive as is the popular seaside town of Bude and the Devon market town of Tavistock. There is a local Post Office and shop 1.5 miles from the farm and the Cornish town of Launceston offering supermarkets, shopping and restaurants is 6 miles away. Woodpeckers were among our regular visitors to the bird feeders The owners are very friendly. We would recommend this site

View of site from the entrance gate View of site from opposite entrance gate Date visited - June 2016 Unit - Car/Caravan/Awning Price per night - £12.00 incl
This site is approx 1 acre, flat grass pitches (some small levelling blocks were needed though) no ground sheets allowed, they are set along the top and side fence/hedge of the site with EHU points to each pitch and well spaced out.
Facilities for re-cycling are available and chemical empty point, with water tap for flushing; these are located under the open barn. A separate toilet and shower are located in the brick built building close to the house, showers are charged at 50p (Honesty Box)
This site is adjacent to a Caravan and Camping Club site which does take children which were easily heard squealing etc so, sort of defeats the object of adults only for peace. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, but left you alone.
Dogs are welcome but there are no dog walk facilities on site.
Highbridge Caravans are close by
Some road noise could be heard but we did not find this intrusive.
Access to the site from the main road has a single track lane for the last ¼ mile or so to the site with no passing places and has a dyke on one side.
We would still recommend this site

Date visited - June 2016 Unit - Car/Caravan/Awning/Fully Serviced Pitch Price per night - £12.00 incl www.hallsdownfarm.weebly.comThis is a Caravan Club Adults Only CL and No Dogs due to being a working sheep farm The road to this site is good but does have a few places where it is narrow so some care is needed when towing. Some road noise can be heard but we felt it was not too intrusive, as this is a working farm, tractors and other agricultural and vehicles do pass the site sometimes at speed (postman pat for one) this may not be too noticeable on the new CL site (which officially opens 1st July 2016). There are 4 hard standing and 2 grass pitches situated in 1 acre. All pitches have electric hook ups, mains tap water and grey water drain. Toilet and sink with hot water and information leaflets are located in the wooden hut next to the recycling facilities and chemical waste. Toilet and wash basin & Information Room Chemical disposal Point
The site is within a short walking distance of the Wistlandpound Reservoir (takes about 45mins to walk all around). A local farm shop is within half a mile of the site which sells the usual farm grown products and ice cream. This site has a few resident animals (other than sheep), at the time of our visit we were amused by the antics of, 2 ponies, a donkey, 2Alpacas, the Pygmy goats and several ducks. During our stay the owners said they have permission to open a 20 van site, so they have moved the CL to the other side of the farm which have the same facilities as the old site. The new 20 van site will still be Adults Only The famous villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by the cliff railway, and the Exmoor National Park are close by. The National Trust property of Arlington Court which houses the National Trust Carriage Museum and for a limited time the Speaker’s State Coach on loan from the Houses of Parliament, a rare opportunity to see this magnificent coach which was last used formally by the Speaker for Prince Charles and Lady Diana wedding. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/arlington-court-and-the-national-trust-carriage-museum/features/monitoring-our-special-carriage(for some reason this link will not open the page, please copy and paste it into your browser to get access, Sorry) I would certainly recommend this site. (More photos will be added)

Have a good trip Paul. They reckon the fuel situation is a lot better at the moment in France, but that doesn't mean they wont have a 'Go Slow' or riot somewhere. We are tunneling next Saturday but this year we are turning left and heading into Belgium. Trooper Thanks Mike, I hope you have a safe trip and do not get caught up in any mis-fortunes during your travels.

I will be dragging the van out of storage tomorrow (Friday) for a clean up and loading up and safety checks in readiness for our next trip out. We (or should I say the wife) have decided to stay in the UK this year for our annual 4 weeks away our her reason is she does not want the potential hassle of what is going on over the water at the moment. So we have booked a few sites which are all CL's after trialling them last year for one of our 2 weeks trips away. Looking forward to Wednesday morning when we start.

We have always had great holidays over there, the relaxed way of living makes it easy. We're going to Annecy first, we have never been there before but it looks very nice. Then across to near Royan for 4 weeks from there it is up to Carnac and then home. Les Hi Les We were going to visit Annecy a few years ago during our "free and easy tour", but after hailstorms near Sarlat which damaged the roof and skylights and car, we decided to make our way back home, then the car broke down just before we got to the tunnel, but it is still on our list. I would love to hear your thoughts and possible sites and pitch sizes etc on your return. But this year the wife wants to tour Devon for 4 weeks staying on CL's as we had a couple of months in Australia last year visiting the daughter and grand kids Hope you have a safe trip Paul

At last common sense has prevailed, I do not agree that kids should be taken out of class regularly but once a year I see as not a problem, this guy proved the daughter was regular in attendence, the problem is other parents may just take the kids out as and when they want, the law definately needs amending.
My daughter took all 3 or her kids out when she spent 3 weeks in Australia, the school asked her to get the kids to look into the culture of the Australian's during their visit and then gave the rest of the class a presentation when they returned, they enjoyed it that much a few years later they emigrated in 2008 and now have residency.

Hi Mike, Finally broke our duck!!
Please add 4 nights at our "local" site Woodmill Farm CC CL in Yoxall Staffs - Adults only site £10 per night all in. 80 miles round trip. The owners cancelled the other vans after we had arrived so we had the site to ourselves for the full 4 nights due to the heavy persistent rainfall the field was so wet and boggy the owners asked if we would park on the concrete road, we did managed to get partially onto the field the next day with motor mover and going on backwards. Thanks Paul
