How do I get my toilet to flush it has just stopped and where does the water go thanks Depends on the type of toilet you have, if it was working then stopped I would first check for a blown fuse, one can be found under the waste tank, remove the waste tank and you should see it towards the back, you may also have a fuse blown inside your van, check all fuses in the fuse box. If you have found these to be OK I would then be looking at the pump within the toilet. Not sure what your next question is about so will wait until you leave more information before answering that bit

The tools used to complete the adjustment are shown in the photo below, it would have been a lot easier with a longer screwdriver due to limited space and view HTH's Paul

I thought this would be helpful to those who suffer from a drooping blind 1) Gently remove the two side LED light fittings these can be eased from behind the main light housing with your fingers (do not pull on the chrome fitting it will damage it) and disconnect the light if it is in your way, making sure you make a note of the wiring beforehand. The lights are located in the panel by a plastic serrated stud to the top and bottom centre of the light fitting. You should see this Closer view 2) Mark the cord with an indelible marker near to the screwed adjuster. (in the photo you can see the amount the cord was tightened) 3) Then holding the loose end of the cord by either fingers or snipe nosed pliers (taking up the slack) loosen the securing nut sufficiently to allow the cord to be pulled through with ease, (DO NOT LET GO OF THE CORD UNTIL YOU HAVE NIPPED THE ADJUSTER BACK UP) this should only be done in increments Max of 20mm (if there is that amount of give) tighten the nut back to the required amount to firmly hold the cord. Repeat this on the other side. 4) Check the blind can be pulled down and opened 5) Reconnect the LED lights (if you disconnected them) and replace light unit to panel again taking care not to apply too much force. Due to the max attachments this site allows I will add the photo showing the tools used to make the adjustment on another post. HTH's Paul

Hi Mike, Please add another trip of ours to Wales (to celebrate the wife's sister 60th birthday).
For her party we stayed on a CC CL called Llandrindod Hall farm near to the lake in Llandrindod Wells, for 5 nights, site fees per night were £14.00, we then left and drove to CC AS Site called Dolaucothi Estate Caravan Club Site located directly opposite the Gold Mine owned by NT, for 4 nights, site fees per night £13.00. Then we moved onto another CC CL near Hay On Wye called Tirmynach Farm for 4 nights, site fees per night £12.50
Total mileage towed = 415. Total nights away = 13. £70+£50+£52 = £172 Ave site fees per night=£13.23
Thanks Paul

Hi Carole. If I understand you correctly, I was under the impression, from your original post, the struts were u/s and you wanted to replace them with like for like struts. Now you have said that you want to replace them to allow the rooflight to open further it is only fair to say that this is a non starter. The design of the rooflight/fixed frame/gas strut is such that the geometry will only allow the gas strut to extend (on my Heiki) to 330mm between fixing pivots of the strut. This limits the opening of the rooflight to approximately 45 deg. When the rooflight is closed, the gas strut is fully compressed between the pivots and lies horizontal in the channel of the frame. Again, because of the geometry of the arrangement, this is a fixed dimension and cannot be altered. It follows that, to increase the opening of the rooflight, a longer strut would have to fitted. If you fit a longer strut you would not be able to close the rooflight because of the geometry. The length of the closed strut would be greater than the distance between the fixing pivots in the closed position. If you close the rooflight nearly all the way and have a look at the position of the pivots in relation to the closed length of the strut, you will see what I am getting at. Sorry to be a kill-joy. Dickers. I wonder if Carole is saying the window will not stay wide open and closes due to US struts??

Brickyard Farm CC CL Brickyard Farm Frodesley Dorrington Shrewsbury SY5 7HX £13 per night (2015) Please note the hyperlink will only work if you are members of the CC www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/search-and-book/certificated-locations/site-detail/?Id=28269&siteName=Brickyard+Farm&facilities=As we had driven for a long time from our previous site and traffic was very heavy we decided not to continue home so the wife called this site on a Friday afternoon expecting to be told “we are full for the week end”, to our delight the site had space, so we arrived within 40 mins, and stayed for 5 nights. Access was via narrow lanes from the main road with some passing places, we did encounter cars on the way to site and a lorry when leaving, but managed to pass the narrow sections. All pitches are hard standing with EHU. A very clean (cleaned daily) free shower and toilet and free hot water wash basin are housed in a metal cabin which has information leaflets, walking maps during our visit the welcome packs were very dated going back to 2010. The fresh water tap, chemical toilet empty and recycle waste bins are located near to the site shower/toilet. Nearest Asda is approx 8 miles from site. Great area for walking.

Longhouse Farm CC CL – Longhouse Mathry Haverfordwest SA62 5AN £12.50 per night (2015) Please note the hyperlink will only work if you are members of the CC www.caravanclub.co.uk/uk-holidays/search-and-book/certificated-locations/site-detail/?Id=28045&siteName=Longhouse&facilities=Access is by narrow lanes from the main road, not many passing places. Site is 0.5 Acres caravan pitches are in a row so you have a great view out to the coastal path. Great walks along the coastal paths. A bus runs daily which allows you to walk to a location and then get the bus back to site, or you can catch the bus to a location and walk back to the site, the path passes in front of the site. Nearest pub is in Trefin which can be walked via the lane for good food and beer. Site has fresh water at both ends of the site, but pressure is low, so one tap can only be used at a time. The owners are really friendly. Peaceful site and no farm dogs barking. Mobile phone reception is good as is TV. We enjoyed watching the owner and his brother’s work in "harmony" collecting the silage. Forgot to add if you put an awning up do not leave any shoes or dog toys in there as the site is visited each night by a fox who will steal them. We were made aware of this by the owner, so I managed to peg down the awning and skirt to make sure it did not happen to us, so we left our wet shoes out only to be woken to a noise in the awning the fox was trying to jump out of the plastic windows the wife opened the door and told it to drop the shoe, which it did we shut the door and it got out the way it came in which was a small gap between the front corner near the van, a quick mod using our small plastic table and a 10 Ltr water butt solved the issue we never had it in again, but others on site had dog toys stolen but were found in the next field. The site owner has now added a warning sign at the gate..

Drugger's End Lane, Malvern, Worcestershire WR13 6JD £14 per night (2015) www.turbles.co.uk/caravan-siteThe Turbles is a Caravan Club CL but is not limited to 5 vans, whilst we were there we counted a possible 13 pitches 3 with hard standing, we were not offered this option when booking or when we arrived, but was more than happy to have the grass pitch. Access key is provided for the gate on arrival. Grass pitches are set around the perimeter fence each pitch has fresh water tap EHU and TV connection (due to poor TV reception) and full size picnic table. Mobile phone reception is also poor around the site. Free use of desktop PC is available which is located in the summerhouse which also houses a TV/DVD and also plenty of jigsaws on a dining table. Many books are also available. Pitches are well spaced out. Unisex toilet and shower are located in a separate cabin beside the Summerhouse. A large field is designated to dogs to exercise. Access to the site is along a narrow road, but does have passing places. The access is not suitable for caravans over 24ft or fifth wheelers. Two pubs are within walking distance both serve good food and beer.

Carsington WatersKirk Ireton, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 3JL 01335 370903 We really liked this site, large well laid out Pitches, however because the site is in a Pine forest there is a lot of shaded Pitches and if you require Sat TV pick your pitch carefully. There is only one Toilet/Shower block which was upto the usual Caravan Club standards. There are numerous service points around the site and one Motorhome Service point. The Entrance and Exit is guarded by card operated barriers. Digital TV was OK though some channels did occasionally break up but we only have a Status 'Flying Saucer' Arial. Mobile phone signal was also Iffy and the Sites WiFi was the worst we have come across good signal strength but very slow data speeds. The Carsington Reservoir is about a 15 minites walk down hill. There is an 8 mile path right around the reservoir. On the walk around the Reservoir we came across a building full of wooden furniture. You Hum it and I'll Play it Trooper Pleased you placed some photos of the site, we live about 15 miles from here, the last time we were there was over 18 years ago, I remember the wind blowing through the vans vents, which made us change the van to a newer warmer model. Nice walk to the waters though. We also rallied in the field further down the road on the same side and also a site at the top end junction (opposite end to where you came in from). Did you frequent the pub at the top junction (The Knockerdown)during your stay? Paul

Good idea Les. I have read that if someone tries to flag you down you should point a camera at them, if they are bogus they scarper pretty quickly. Trooper Do not need a camera, get the old girl to glare at them, they soon scarper (hope she doesn't read this )

on my service I was told I had a damp spot of 25 caused by the awning rail I had him re do the rail , my question is will that spot dry out or not there is no smell of damp when you visit the van Hi sad to hear you have damp at least it has been caught early, at 25% from my experience it should be OK and dry out if it was the awning rail, if you can see a "blueing" of the panel you should keep an eye on it, measure it to ensure it has been stopped by the reseal. If you have no signs of internal staining then as said should be OK I would get it checked again in 2-3 months to see if it has dried naturally.
