There are price increases every year. The only difference for next year is that the Club have actually confirmed they are happening rather than just bury them on the website so you are none the wiser. I suspect the e-mail was prompted by the rolling booking system and the mail confirms everyone who has already booked will pay the rates in operation during 2018 so some people will actually save a bit of money.
The Service pitch thing is a totally different matter. They will always be in the minority of total pitches but they are increasing in number because they are so popular, some people won't book a site unless they can have a serviced pitch! Even I have used them! It is quite a hefty additional payment but clearly lots of members don't mind.

Glad you are enjoying the motorhome. We changed six years ago and no going back now! In fact we have just ordered a new one which is a bit smaller which might allow us to take it out for drives from site something we never did with our current one. We still find plenty of sites near public transport so we have managed without a car. Sometimes we use a taxi. I can still walk a reasonable distance despite my knee so we are managing at the moment.

We came through the toll on Monday and the young lady at the toll booth mentioned it was changing. Probably trying to get the word out before the end date to avoid any arguments afterwards? Despite the numerous ways the Club has of informing members there will always be a few that don't hear about it!

Nothing planned yet, even in the UK. Tend not to book until a week or two before we are due to arrive. Overseas travel will very much depend on health issues and we have given up on long term planning!!!

When we changed to a motorhome I was determined not to use the aquaroll and wastemaster but as we went on we felt that it was sensible to carry on with them particularly the Aquaroll. It does depend on how long you stay on site. The tanks should last for 2/3 days depending on whether you shower in the van. You can travel with the fresh water tank full but you do have to be mindful of your payload. A lot of motorhomes only allow about 10 litres of water within the included payload. I think after a few trips you will be able to see clearly what suits your style of touring so perhaps don't through them out yet!!!

If you have not already purchased a motorhome could you not buy a more compact one and not bother towing a car? If you could manage with a 5.5 metre van conversion that would take up as much space as a large 4X4.

The CMC forum software is far from cutting edge so perhaps more people have viewed than it indicates.

Considering people seem to be crying out for information about CL's on the CMC Forum, especially those with hardstandings I would have thought there might have been some response to me posting the link. Eleven people have viewed the post but no comments or likes so I am not sure what to make of it.

Thanks for that, a useful report. We don't tend to use CL's but that one would be of interest to us as its next to a canal which was a previous passion of ours. Hope you don't mind but I posted the link on the CC forum in the CL section.

I am in the process of deleting all my photos on Photobucket as I noticed my profile icon went missing on one forum. They are all duplicates anyway. I now use my own website to host my photos, or at least the ones I need to use elsewhere. A very shabby way of treating people. I could understand it if they said that all future hosting would have to be paid for but not the way they have gone about it.

We have not long been back from the C&CC Wolverley site. Rather foolishly we decided to walk into Kidderminster on the hottest day of our stay!! All I can say thank goodness for the M&S Café almost right by the canal!!! We did get a taxi back which was not too expensive and he dropped us off at the Lock Inn for further refreshment!!! Thanks for that as Wolverley is on our to do list when Margaret is feeling a bit better. From the video Wolverley seems a fair distance (walking) from the site. Is it any nearer from the site short cut?

Gas has always been cheap in Spain, even Camping Gaz. I use one 6kgs Calor Lite and one BP LIght, the latter I exchanged the other day for £28 at Homebase so it looks better value than Calor.

We have been on quite a few C&CC sites where the toilet blocks are in serious need of refurbishment. At Chipping Norton they re did the site roads and created more (proper) hardstanding but did nothing to the toilet block. Its not a major problem for us as we use our own facilities but I wouldn't be so keen if I was in a tent!!! I wonder if some of their sites are on very short leases so its not worth spending the money. The site manager at Norwich told me the Council only renew the lease on an annual basis.

Our motorhome came with the shower head as standard so we have nothing to compare. We generally get two showers per hot water tank but we don't have the shower running continuously. In the winter it is a bit touch and go for the second person using the shower so we tend to delay the second shower until the first person is completely ready so the water can heat up. We also in the winter run the heater on both gas and electrics whilst we have showers to maximise heating up of the water.

We have one in our motorhome which works very effectively as its a pumped supply. We also have one at home on a none pumped supply and it only makes a marginal difference.
