anybody got any ideas on a problem with lights in caravan if on 12 volt supply theyre ok when plugged into mains supply 12 volt light flicker 240 volt main lights are ok battery voltage reads 12.5 to 13 volts when plugged into mains reading is 14.5 to 15 volts Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my new (then) 2010 Pastiche after having 7 chargers fitted by BCA (their engineer came to the house) they gave me a "standard" charger used on the Amara class of Coachman as my dual voltage charger fitted to the Pastiche, VIP & Laser was found to be faulty along with the replacements after they had carried out tests it was found a component fitted inside the unit was incorrect after this was changed I had no problems. Being a new incarnation of a previous model, I thought it may be informative to relay my experiences with our new van. We didn't get off to a good start. We went to collect the Xplore at the appointed time from Glossop Caravans. See my post in the welcome section regarding the problems with the Phantom tracker fitted. Hopefully it has been sorted out, but due to our oversight we haven't got an alarm fitted. I wrongly assumed that it would come with a factory fitted one like our 2 previous vans. I am a bit puzzled as to how the tracker can tell if it is being moved legally or being stolen. I had a false alarm today when I went into the van so I'll have to ring Phantom tomorrow for more information. Our other caravan had a plipper to arm the alarm and I assume it disabled the tracker when the plipper was used to switch the alarm off. Our first impressions are that the Xplore will give us all we need for pleasant comfortable holidays. We have never had a tracker fitted, but our friends have had a van with one and they had to travel with side lights on, this switched the tracker off, so did not cause an alarm to the tracker guys. Not sure if this would apply to yours, do the instructions say anything??

I agree Neil, I frequent another Caravan forum and a minority of posters seem to be keyboard warriors and always want the last say and if anyone dares to speak against their thoughts then the slanging match begins, fortunately I now block certain forum members so I do not see their "contributions" I feel it sad that they need to be so rude and aggressive. I just hope I never park next to them.

Well 'Mikeys' third lot of Antibiotics seem to have worked (he said touching wood). He has lasted nearly a week now without any accidents, so we are all set for the off tomorrow. Hope the Snow has gone, from the roads anyway. Trooper Glad to hear that at least that is one thing less to worry about. I echo Craig's comments re the road, we pitched on the same side where he mentioned, we were also disturbed by late revellers walking past shouting as they walked passed in the early hours of the morning. But we had little choice of pitches when we arrived so we had to lump it. As already stated the works and pubs are good. Hope you enjoy your stay Paul

Hi Dickers and thanks, Yes I have a mains dehumidifier which seems to do the job well, especially when the weather is bad! The caravan cushions etc are still in the van although I have stood them up and most of them are out of the way in the toilet compartment. I think yes it would be a good idea to bring them indoors although space is a premium with the children and I don't think the loft would be a good idea, but I'll try and give it a go. I think you must learn some amazing things at the RAF, my late father was stationed at Tangmere I think back in the late 50's early 60's and he was always full of good ideas and a very practical person. The floor in the caravan is carpeted and in reasonable condition, I'm sticking the meter through this and that's what's giving the readings. I'm just wondering if this 16-25% is due to the severe rain that we had here hoping this will improve in better conditions. Cheers. I have had spurious readings when going through carpets.
